It is difficult to say exactly how many calories a person burns during a 1-hr class, but professionals estimate that by adding high-intensity intervals into the workout, the participant can actually burn between 400-800 calories depending on proper technique, individual metabolic rate, intensity, etc. One thing is for sure: the more you push, the more you burn!
